Tending the Threshold: A collective ritual for our time between worlds

November 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm GMT

We are living in a profound threshold moment. Old certainties are fraying. Ecological, political, technological, and cultural systems are destabilising. Familiar identities, institutions, and narratives no longer provide the orientation they once did, yet what comes next remains unclear. In such times, there is clearly pressure to rush towards answers, strategies, or optimism. But throughout human history, periods of transition have also called for something else: spaces of pause, reflection, symbolic meaning-making, and collective reorientation.

This session takes the form of a shared ritual for inhabiting liminality, a temporary communal space for sensing into the thresholds we are crossing individually and collectively. Together we will engage our embodied imagination and sense into…

  • what is dissolving or losing coherence in our lives and communities,

  • what feels unresolved, uncertain, or not yet fully formed,

  • what identities, assumptions, or ways of relating are fading,

  • and what new orientations, capacities, or possibilities are emerging.

The session will culminate in the co-creation of a temporary symbolic “threshold space” shaped by our reflections, symbols, movements and sounds. Together we will craft a shared field of intention around how we remain present and ethically aware as old moral guardrails fall away.

This is followed by a reflective session in which we deepen into our exploration of the topic, from 16:30-17:30 BST/ UK time.
