Restorative relational skills

March 25 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm GMT

Restorative relational skills for navigating conflict, repairing relationships, and overcoming polarisation

A deep dive / interactive workshop offered by Karen Liebenguth

Conflict, rupture, arguments are part of life, but how we respond to difficult situations can either deepen polarisation or open the door to understanding and repair. In this 90-minute experiential workshop, Karen Liebenguth will introduce you to restorative approaches to relationship repair, and how these differ from more punitive or problem-solving models.

Together, we will explore what it means to take a restorative approach toward conflict, including the attitudes of empathy and compassion that impact how we regulate, listen, speak, feel, and respond when tensions arise. In this workshop I will introduce you to a set of practical restorative skills for navigating difficult conversations.

We will have opportunities to practise these skills in small groups and reflect on our experiences, before coming together to share learnings and insights with the whole group. The session will be participatory and grounded in our lived experiences, supporting us to apply restorative approaches in our respective fields of work and personal lives.

Everyone is welcome to this workshop, and everything will be optional. You can participate as much or little as you like, or simply come along to observe and listen in whatever way supports you.
