All we need is… Love?!

January 15 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm GMT

It is 2026, the midpoint of the Decade of Transformation, and last summer’s UN report on the Sustainable Development Goals offered a sobering truth: that we are still far from achieving our goals. We know by now that the SDGs cannot be met through technical solutions alone. The metacrisis has inner dimensions – psychological, relational, and spiritual – that shape the outer ‘outcomes’. Yet the question remains: How do we bridge this noble intention to tend the inner world with the hard realities of external change?

This month, we’ll sit in conversation with guest speaker Charlotte Dufour who has worked for decades in systems change and sustainability with NGOs and the United Nations. Together we Charlotte we’ll explore SDG 0: the SDG of Love and Joy, an emerging call to place human consciousness, relational maturity, and inner development at the very centre of sustainable transformation. Love here is not sentimentality; it is a disciplined, courageous way of being that restores dignity, embraces co-regulation, and allows us to meet difference and conflict from embodied and heart-centred place.

Together with Charlotte, we will explore how love becomes practical: an intelligence that guides ethical action, deep listening, and the slow weaving of belonging in polarised contexts. Through practice and reflective dialogue, we will inquire into how this deeper understanding of love can widen the horizon of what is possible in our work in communities, organisations, and the wider world.

Charlotte Dufour is the « Practice Advisor » in the Conscious Food Systems Alliance Secretariat, hosted by UNDP. She has been working on food systems and nutrition for over two decades, with NGOs (Action Contre la Faim, Groupe URD), with the UN FAO for 12 years, and with various organisations as a consultant since 2017 (SUN Secretariat; 4SD/Food Systems Summit Dialogue Support Team). She worked primarily in Afghanistan and sub-Saharan Africa, before working at global level. She is also an instructor of Ananda Yoga and meditation and co-founded the NGO Listening Inspires. She presently lives in Burgundy, France, where she and her husband are creating a retreat center.
